Stand Alone pressuremeter system

The pressuremeter is a controlled stress loading test performed in situ on the wall of a pre-bored hole using a radially expanding cylindrical probe. It delivers a stress-strain curve with three key parameters:

• Ménard Pressuremeter Modulus (Em)
• Creep Pressure (Pf)
• Ménard Limit Pressure (Pl)

From these, you can estimate critical geotechnical properties:

• Deformability modulus
• Undrained shear strength in clays (Su)
• Internal friction angle in sands (φ')
• In-situ horizontal stress

The test is standardized by ISO 22476-4:2021 and supports shallow/deep foundation designs, settlement prediction, and retaining wall dimensioning.
