Seabed CPT system

Geomil Equipment’s Manta-50 is an extremely efficient and easy to handle seabed Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) system for marine soil investigation campaigns where rapid and high quality in-situ testing is required.

The Manta-50 is the result of continuous innovation of the Manta platform. It is the lightest version of the Geomil range of seabed CPT equipment, with its own specific characteristics and area of operation. The limited dimensions makes it very suitable to operate from a broad range of vessels, omitting the need for a full geotechnical vessel. The system is designed for effective and reliable surveys in water depths of up to 500 m. It targets shallow penetration projects, typical for pipeline/cable routing or basic surveys.

The heart of all Manta systems is the CPT drive unit based on the successful Continuous Drive System (CDS) with its unrivalled and proven track record. The CDS provides a highly reliable non-slip drive system with low maintenance and high uptimes.

The unit can be supplied with a supporting constant tension (CT) umbilical winch as an integrated part of the system. The winch and multifunctional umbilical are used to control operations, supply power, transfer real-time data, and to deploy and hoist the system.
