Clamps for push & pull

Push-/Pull clamp 3655

Clamp with sliding wedge blocks for pushing and pulling of OD 36 mm CPT sounding and OD 55 mm casing tubes.

This valuable clamp, unsurpassed in its reliable performance, can be deployed on any GeoMil hydraulic twin ram penetrometer pusher. Also, selected pusher models from third party manufacturers can be up-graded.

Two sets of displacement plates allow for adjusting the jaw spacing when pushing/pulling sounding tubes (36 mm) or casing tubes (55 mm). The clamping blocks are rotated for pulling or pushing by use of the the front levers (see picture).

Sliding bars underneath the clampensure that the tubes are centered before entering the clamp (in general combined with the guiding tube positioned in the respective sounding beam of a pusher). This way the tube string passing through the clamp remains free from tension. Hence, the clamp can be released at any time and no excessive forces are required to free the string.

On request, the clamp is also available in a version for 44 mm tubes.

The clamp also comprises a magnetic proximity switch, used to trigger the depth registration of the Geomil data acquistion system. Also available in version for OD 44 mm tubes.

T-Rex Pulling clamp 36

Easy to handle and swiftly deployed T-Rex pulling clamp for OD 36 mm tubes. Especially designed for pulling top-pushed CPT tube strings like when doing mechanical CPT. The clamp can be used for pulling forces of up to 260 kN and fits, like Clamp 3655, in all GeoMil twin ram penetrometer pushers. The T-Rex can be placed and retrieved easily by a smart but strong Bajonette type coupling.

Due to the clamping jaws with a large effective gripping surface any rod damage, like it is caused with standard ball clamps, can be excluded. The high quality design of the clamp guarantees for minimum wear of the clamp while the removable clamping jaws are reinforced with tempered gripping plates.

Foot actuated catching clamp

Simple and versitle add-on tool for catching a 36 mm sounding tube string while undoing the threads.
Useful for all soundings in soft and very soft soils or over water deployment, when the tube string tends to slide down due to its own gravitational force while not secured by a push-/pull device.
The easy to use catching clamp, tigthened by just one foot step, is suitable for all stand alone penetrometer pushers coming without integrated catching clamp.
