The new penetrometer design provides full protection from physical damages to the pistons (e.g. while handling tubes) by two covering cylinders and thus eliminating the risk of hydraulic leakage. Increased working space between the two cylinders eases tube handling and operation. The solid push-/pull bridge, connecting the protection covers, allows for using all GeoMil push-/pull clamps for electrical CPT as well as push-/pull clampsmeasuring heads for mechanical CPT. All units come with a hydraulic catching clamp, integrated in the sounding beam.
The easy to manoeuvre single axle trailer chassis is reinforced by a solid frame with three hydraulic levelling jacks for safe and horizontal positioning. The central working platform allows for operating all components in arm reach. From a fixed valve block levelling and anchoring (with optional Hygand anchoring gear) can be controlled, while a second but detachable valve block controls the penetrometer functions.
The optional, pivotable weather protective housing for computer and data acquisition system, can assure for reliable sounding results even under worse weather conditions.
Penetrometer pusher, power-pack and tube rack can be detached for stand alone use. With the conversion kit, comprising stand alone mounting struts for the pusher, wheel-set for the tube rack and hydraulic hoses with leakage free quick-couplings for connecting pusher and power-pack, utmost versatility is guaranteed.
As all GeoMil pushing systems the 200kN/TR forms a versatile unit designed to be used in a wide range of applications and feasible for electrical as well as mechanical CPT (automatic or manual data recording), seismic CPT, shear vane tester, Marchetti Dilatometer, sampling, etc.
